Colorado Garden Tractor Pullers Association
Colorado Garden Tractor Pullers Association is a group of individuals dedicated to the promotion of Lawn & Garden Tractor Pulling. We were formed in 1999. CGTPA was established to offer an inexpensive opportunity for children and adults to participate together in an exciting family oriented motor sport. We have members from the age of 4 up to senior members in their 70's. Our events are drug and alcohol free and provide a great environment to get youngsters involved. We have been invited to participate at county fairs, town celebrations, parades and special events. We are a self sufficient and non-profit organization. We have 16 different classes ranging from ECONO STOCK (650 pound ordinary lawn tractors with turf tires), up to the UNLIMITED 1150 pound class with multiple engines. There are classes in between to fit practically any tractor. CGTPA always welcomes new competitors that are interested in competing with our club. We schedule about 10 events a season that runs between April and September. Our events are primarily in the Northern Colorado area but do travel within a 200 mile radius of Denver,CO. If you are considering buying or building a tractor, please refer to the Rule book on this site or contact our tech committee to get information on each specific horsepower and weight class.

UPDATED
In response to feedback from our general membership, we held a General Membership Meeting this past weekend to review the CGTPA Rulebook updates that had been proposed by the Board of Directors, as announced on this website on January 18. Here are the major changes approved by the general membership: The General Rules related to helmets, deadman throttles, and killswitches are unchanged as they relate to the classes in the 2011 CGTPA Rulebook. Weight for the Econo Stock Heavy class is changed from 1150# to 1000#. In light of the small number of tractors recently competing in the LT8 class, tractors in that class will be combined with the LT12 class. The weights in the 3 UL classes change from 850/950/1050# to 950/1000/1050#. Two Stock Altered classes, which are similar to NQS classes, have been added with weights of 950# and 1050#. Contact a Tech Committee member for more info on the CGTPA specs for these classes (click on “Officers” tab on our Home Page to see Tech Committee member info or click here). An Exhibition Open Tractor class has been added with a weight of 1150#. It will allow NQS diesel tractors, and motorcycle and snowmobile engines tractors up to 1100cc. Contact a Tech Committee member for more info on the specs for this class especially before you build anything to run it. Each tractor will be allowed to enter up to a maximum of 3 classes. The CGTPA Rulebook is being revised (including some other minor modifications not detailed above) and should be posted to the website shortly. We are anticipating having 12-14 pulls this year based on interest from various venues so far. We hope to post a preliminary schedule by the end of February. Thanks for checking out our website – hope to see you at the pulls!
